Gareth Bale and Robin van Persie on Uefa award shortlist

 
Premier League duo Gareth Bale and Robin van Persie are on the 10-man shortlist for the 2012-13 Uefa Best Player in Europe award.
Tottenham's Bale, 23, scored 26 goals in all competitions, while striker Van Persie, 29, also found the net 26 times to help Manchester United regain the league title.

Four players from Bundesliga and European champions Bayern Munich have been selected.
No Spanish candidates made the list.
Last season, Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta, who helped Spain win Euro 2012, picked up the main prize.
The award, in its third year, is voted for by a jury composed of journalists from each of Uefa's member associations.
The winner will be announced in Monaco on Thursday 29 August during the Uefa Champions League group stage draw.
